Mumbai Police investigate Raj Kundra’s links to other apps streaming pornographic content – Times of India

Mumbai Police on Sunday revealed that they are reportedly investigating Raj Kundra’s links to two-three other apps that streamed pornographic content. The businessman is accused of running the pornographic app Hotshots through his company, Viaan industries.

According to a report in a news portal, after Hotshots was removed from play stores, the police believe that Raj has set up a few other apps. They are now reportedly investigating the same.

After Kundra and the IT head of his company were arrested, the police recorded the statement of his wife Shilpa Shetty too. The actress has so far denied her involvement in the alleged offence of transmission of sexually explicit content. Shilpa also claimed while recording her statement to the investigating team that films available on Kundra’s app Hotshot are not ‘pornography but erotica’ while citing ‘more obscene’ examples from other OTT platforms.

Reportedly, Shilpa’s involvement in the case is being probed right now. Speaking to ETimes, the source revealed, “The reason Shilpa has come under the scanner is because she resigned from the director’s position at Viaan Industries.” Since operations of the porn production and distribution were allegedly being handled by Viaan Industries, the cops have decided to look into the matter and see if Shilpa benefitted in any way from the money generated at the company.

Raj Kundra, who was arrested on July 19, was produced before the court after three days of police custody. On July 23, after an extension of his police custody till Jul 27, he has reportedly approached the Bombay high court to challenge his arrest as being “illegal.’’ He has reportedly denied all allegations against him.
