Shah Rukh Khan lauds Farhan Akhtar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for ‘Toofan’; says, ‘We should all make more films like this’ – Times of India

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle today and reviewed his film ‘Don’ director Farhan Akhtar’s released film ‘Toofan’ today. Appreciating the filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s directorial for fine performances, he summed it up that there should be more films like ‘Toofaan’.

He tweeted, “Wish my friends @FarOutAkhtar @RakeyshOmMehra the best for their labour of love. I had the privilege to see it a few days back. Extremely fine performances by @SirPareshRawal (wow!) @mohanagashe @mrunal0801 @hussainthelal My review: we shld all try & make more films like Toofaan.”

Earlier today, right before the sports drama was released on the OTT platforms, Farhan’s girlfriend, Shibani Dandekar had showered love upon the actor with a heartfelt note.

It read, “Watching your journey so closely has been nothing short of a privilege. You went to unimaginable lengths to get into the skin of the character, you didn’t give up till you found his authentic voice, you took your mind to the darkest of places, and you tested your body every single day. There was blood, sweat, punches, literal blows but you hit back with persistence, endurance, grit, resilience. Slowly the lines blurred and you literally morphed into AJJU BHAI aka AZIZ ALI BOXER!” alongside a throwback picture of Farhan from the sets with Shibani.

‘Toofaan’ is helmed by filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra where Farhan is seen essaying the role of a boxer. It also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.
