‘The Family Man’ actress Priyamani defends Kareena Kapoor Khan for reportedly demanding a fee hike to play ‘Sita’, says she deserves it – Times of India

Kareena Kapoor Khan was all over the news after she allegedly demanded Rs 12 crore to essay the role of Sita in an adaptation. While the actress was bashed and trolled on social media after the reports started doing the rounds on social media, she also received support from her fellow actresses in the film industry.

The recent one to come out in support of the ‘Heroine’ actress was none other than South beauty and ‘The Family Man’ actress Priyamani. In an interview with a news portal, she said that if a woman is asking for what she deserves it is because she deserves it. According to her, that is Kareena’s market thing and she deserves what she is asking for. Priyamani also added that there is nothing wrong with asking for a specific amount if you think you deserve it.

Elaborating more, Priyamani added that ladies have reached a point where they can say what they want to. The actress also added that one can’t comment on that person just because one thinks that it’s wrong. According to her, it doesn’t mean that the person doesn’t deserve it.

Earlier, Taapsee also defended Kareena on the matter. Taapsee told a news portal that if the same was done by a man, people would have said, ‘Iski market value badh gayi hai’. According to her, just because a woman is asking for it, she is called “difficult” and “too demanding”.

According to Taapsee, you will always read about this problem, the issue of hiked salary with women. However, she questions, why not? According to her, Kareena is one of the biggest female superstars we have in the country and if she commands a certain salary for her time, it’s her job. She also went on to point out that other mythological characters that are played by men don’t do it for free.

On the work front, Kareena is gearing up for Aamir Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. She also has Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ in her kitty.
